Rob and I decided that to take the boat down to salt water we needed to make some changes. Danny's Fault now has a new bottom and new graphics sort of. Because of documenting the boat we had to scrape the old name off(too big) and put the new name on with a hailing port. So after some scraping and then some more scraping we got the old name off. We now hail from Ft. Richardson, Alaska. It has made for some interesting discussions with passersby in our soon to be our former homeport of Bruce Mines, Ontario.
We are now refitting the boat with a new head(toilet), new wiring in the mast and a new refrigeration system. Hopefully all will go well so that we can leave Bruce Mines in mid August and sail down to Chicago to start our river trip.
Last week we had to stop all work and go down to Detroit because our daughter Amanda and her husband Julius came from Anchorage to long awaited visit. Most of the family had not met Julius so we had a "Welcome to the family" party. My mom Rita is posed with Amanda and Julius.
